An avid reader, writer, and linguist of South Asian heritage, I have always enjoyed endeavors that have cultivated the imagination and its reach. Since I was a child, I have been fascinated with almost every discipline, vacillating often between the world of STEM and social sciences, and have also weighed these options in the pursuit of my undergraduate degree here at the University of Houston. Aside from spending time with friends, I spent my formative years in flux, moving around the country with my immigrant parents, who were in search of better academic and economic prospects, always in pursuit of the next best thing for our family. After each go around making friends and getting integrated into both school and social life, I spent extracurricular time doing work at a local hospital, working with ESL (English as a Second Language) students that had migrated from Latin America, as well as keeping the books for my school’s basketball team, an exercise in accounting that taught me the discipline in organization; time management would be next. After my high school graduation, my parents again decided it was time to move, and we headed to the Gulf Coastal Plains region of Texas, settling in the nation’s fourth-largest city, Houston. This time around, it was not the prospect of making new friends that was on the horizon, but the foundational years of a career, and all the possibilities surrounding that path and process. I know write this introduction for you in the hopes of showing you my creative process, as well as my most salient attributes and characteristics, both as an individual, prospective employee, and student, one who is adamant upon making a difference, even if only in the slightest!
